On Thursday the 20th of May we celebrated the Multicultural Day. Our morning commenced with an official opening of our Opal Garden. We even had a special guest – a butterfly!!! This was followed by our very own Karnivale Parade – what a fairytale parade that was!!! Characters from some of our favourite fairytales came alive! After lunch, we had a few different activities. Room 20 and 21 were very lucky to make a trip to Africa in Room 22 with Mr Higgs, followed by some Aboriginal traditional games in the gym. After recess we were all invited to taste food from different places – very yummy. Our last part of the day was very special. We had three unique dance performances followed by African drummers and a BBQ outside the gym.
This day would not have been as excitng and fun packed if it was not for the Multicultural Day Committee. So a big thank you to Lesley Payne, Jenny Graetz, Janet Doolan, Jessica Scattini, Lisa Linnell, Brad Hoekman, Jasna Gajic, Jacquie Tobitt, Livia Walen, Jenny K, Gepsy, Pauline, Christie, Melissa and the lovely ladies from Opal.
