In 2013 key priority areas have been Wellbeing and Belonging, Oral Language and Numeracy. These areas are developed through observations and interactions with children, reflection and review of the program, family and staff discussions and the outcomes of experiences for children. In planning the program staff develop a term overview and then work toward an emergent program that captures children’s interests, ideas and strengths and is strongly supportive of family input. There are a range of small and large group experiences each day. Preschool and occasional care programs are integrated and staff meet weekly to plan for children’s learning. Staff engage in a daily reflection and review which allows them to adapt the program within a child centred context. The Early Years learning Framework is the foundation of the program and staff practice.
The Community Develop Coordinator in Good Beginnings and a Speech Pathologist employed through Allied Health support the centre in a range of ways on a regular basis. Families have access to a range of support groups and services through the partnerships in the Children’s Centre.
