Bullying and Violence Prevention Presentation

“Elizabeth Grove Primary have been working closely with the Sammy D Foundation for the last 5 years. All year 6/7 students participate in the Impact presentation.. Feedback from students included “I know I have the ability to make choices” and “I didn’t realise how many people could be affected by one punch.” We thank Neil and his team for the powerful impact they have made not only on our students, but within our community. “

WHY ELIZABETH GROVE PRIMARY

  • Our School Motto

Our School motto, "Your Caring Neighbourhood School", is underpinned by strong values of Respect, Honesty and Community. The School Community values people's strengths and this ensures that everyone works together to foster a sense of belonging and commitment.
  • Our School Philosophy

We believe that every child has the ability to learn, can be successful through achieving their personal best and will make valuable citizens in the community. The provision of high quality education for every child at Elizabeth Grove Primary will ensure access to a range of learning opportunities, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Beliefs about Learning

Learning is enhanced when the curriculum is differentiated, providing multiple entry points and a variety of learning opportunities that develop students attitudes, skills and abilities.

Students are more engaged in their learning when it is innovative, challenging, rigorous, relevant to their life experiences and connected to their world beyond school.

Learning is enhanced when students are provided with a variety of learning processes, including inquiry learning that actively engages them in deep creative thinking, skill development and problem solving.

Learning is enhanced when students form positive relationships with peers, staff and families, and their voice is heard and respected.
  • Your Community School

The Elizabeth Grove Community Campus consists of Government and Non-Government agencies catering for the education and health need of families. These services include occasional care and pre-school to year 7 schooling. We have access to community, social and family workers including the Smith Family on site.
From our Principal Dan Jarrad
Dan-e1376623723100-199x300 "Our school has created a point of difference within the community through achieving our goals and objectives outlined in our Strategic Plan over the past 4 years. We have a reputation of being a safe, proud, welcoming and family focussed environment. Learning opportunities that we have created to increase participation and engagement in ‘school life’ for everyone based on community feedback have become our reality. Whether it be through our Kitchen Garden program, natural play environments, sporting pathways, academic focus on Reading Comprehension and Mathematics or improving our ‘Dispositions For Learning’ through our Positive Education program, they have all impact positively on the school.

This is best realised by feedback from our school Community who said when surveyed recently:

“Parents and Students at the school feel the changes over the last few years are all for the better: good staff, good back-up team, positive Principal who keeps them informed."

"Elizabeth Grove is welcoming to everyone; it accommodates our needs; children are happy; the school is safe."

"Positive Education is having a significant impact on student perceptions of themselves and their learning: “it helps us to keep going” and “helps me to stay calm”

Through Education we can be the ‘difference’ for the students at EGPS, working in partnership with families to embed the school values of ‘Respect, Honesty and Community’ that lead to achieving life-long success."
